Drug use is extremely harmful to public health, the economy and the environment. Bangladesh is one of the ten highest tobacco consuming countries in the world due to large population, poverty and lack of education and awareness. In order to speed up the government's tobacco control activities, there must be a well-planned action plan or guidelines for the local government institutions under the local government department. It is for this purpose that the local government department has formulated these guidelines. And in the light of this, all local government institutions will provide the necessary guidelines in protecting the public from the harmful effects of indirect smoking by reducing the level of use of tobacco products in all public places and public transport under the jurisdiction of the local government institutions of the country through the formulation and implementation of their own guidelines.
